This day-time 10 x 3 hour Ceramic course covers all the basic hand building techniques; coil, slab, pinch, slump, form, as well as throwing, which will be covered towards the end.

You will be taught about different types of clay and have the opportunity to work with them and also practice a variety of decorative techniques; marbling, sgraffito, slipware, burnishing, stamping, stencilling etc, along with glazing.
Additional sessions can be added for those wishing to learn mould-making, slip-casting and how to create and mix their own glazes.

Projects for each technique will be personal; you create your own designs and decide what to make. However, guidance and ideas are always at hand.
By the end of the course you will have a broad foundation to build upon, should you wish to, and have completed several personal projects to take home and admire.

This course aims to be creative, fun, inspiring and relaxing.

There will be a 30 minute break mid-way through the session. Tea, coffee and snacks will be provided.

Please note that catch-up sessions will be possible (within reason) to complete all 10 sessions.
